About Us

Delta Foundation Purpose & Mission Statement

Founded September 8, 1999, the Foundation was established by the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) public service organization, is staffed by volunteers and supported by contributions from corporations, government agencies, and the general public. The affairs of the Foundation are managed by the Board of Directors who are members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The Foundation strives to improve conditions related to poverty and illiteracy; advocate educational advancement and high academic achievement; promote good health; and encourage social welfare and cultural achievements.

The funds raised through the Foundation enable us to provide scholarships for high school students, to assist a myriad of local youth and community organizations, to promote academic excellence, and support activities of senior citizens and other disenfranchised groups of people. The Foundation also provides financial assistance to other charitable organizations whose goals reflect its purpose.

The mission of the Delta Education and Public Service Foundation is to enrich the lives of youth who reside in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park. The Foundation’s mission is accomplished through its programs focusing on:

  • Educational Development
  • Economic Development
  • Physical Fitness and Mental Health Awareness
